Porter Sculpture Park, Roadside Sculptures from the Master!
As I was driving along Highway 90 on my way to the Badlands National Park, suddenly this Horse Sculpture came into view. Along side him was a great big Bull head. I had to stop and see what it was. I found this great place called Porter Sculpture Park.
Wayne Porter, a self taught artist has created a field of sculptures in Montrose, South Dakota. The park has been highlighted in Time Magazine, Roadside America, The Huffington Post, and many more.
Mr. Porter holds court on the site most days between 7am to 8:30pm from about May 15th to October 15 each year on 18 acres of open prairie which holds his art work and a few poems. But check his website for seasonally dates and prices.
My favorite is this little frog. If you are driving by, then stop and see this amazing artwork and talk to the master!
