Perry County Covered Bridges Tour-Part One

Perry County has 14 Covered Bridges. It takes about 2 hours and 13 minutes to see all of them. That is if you don’t get lost like I always do. It took me so much longer but it was enjoyable except finding Fleisher’s Bridge. I kept going past it and my GPS keep sending me in circles but it is just past the Fairgrounds less then a mile away. If you see a sign about the bridge only taking a certain amount of weight, turn that way (towards the right from the Fairgrounds).

I will be listing the bridges starting at the New Germantown Covered Bridge then going the best route to see them in the quickest possible trip. But if you are in a time crunch note that the first eight bridges are only take 44 minutes, so I would add or subtract bridges according to your time frame for the day. Part I will be those 8 bridges and Part II will be the last 6 bridges.

Also, check out the Perry County Covered Bridge and Wine Tour Route. They have a loop for you and it will take you by the different winery’s as well.

In addition, watch out for bicycles, and horse and carriages. This is Amish Country. If you need eggs or other local fruit and vegetables, stop by one of the local farms. But keep your windows closed in the heat, the smell came be a bit fragrant from all the fertilizer and animals.
