Who Am I!
I am Penelope Percival. I am just a California girl that got displaced! My last child moved out of the house. So, I started to think, which can be very dangerous, and realized that I wanted to travel the world and see all the places, animals, and people that I have been reading about all my life. (I am a nerd just in case you wanted to know!)
Of course, Covid19 hit about the same time I closed my business and thankfully, I had not sold my house yet. So, I stayed until it was safe to travel and took out my minivan and started Vanlife, or I call it Van Life or Van Travel. I have upgrade to a Sprinter and I have slowed down my travel and I am enjoying myself and not racing around all the time, ie instead of staying for a day, I tend to stay a week!
Where I am going?
I will be traveling mainly in the US for a while but I might pop overseas once in a while. I love hiking with Olive Oil. We go to a lot of State and National Parks. But we also find so many diffent places. I love lighthouses and histoical places.
What to expect from me!!!!
Great pictures and stories of the places I visit! How to travel on a budget! Travel tips! How to have wonderful meals without the price of a restaurant! A bit of a history lesson as I love history.
My personal monthly budget of under $2,000 per month with some places needing a bit more.
I love history so I will try to have Brief History on most places that I stop which will be about the history of the place, a bio, and/or some other interesting facts. If your not interest, then skip to the next heading. But I find traveling so much better with the back story!
I will also try to add on books about the places, people, or wonders that I see. Things that you might want to read before you head out yourself. Most of the books will be those that I have read, am reading, or plan to read at some point.
Above all, I want to share with you, the history of the places that I visit and the back stories behind the scenes. I also love waterfalls, lighthouses, bridges, animals, and short hikes! So, you will never know what I will be up to on any given day.
Where am I staying?
The first issue with traveling that I was having was where to stay and be socially distant with as little contact with others as possible. I ran across a site all about Van Life. So, I decked out my minivan, so like a turtle I can take my home with me. But I do have a relative in PA that allows me to stop by when I need too. Also takes Baby during the summer and when I want to do things that Baby can’t do, i.e. museums, zoos, and other things.
So, come join me and see what kind of trouble I can get into…lol
