How to get to the Beach at Tar Hollow State Park
Arriving at Tar Hollow State Park all you see is green mount of grass and in the background a mountain of trees plus a parking lot in front of it. But didn’t someone say that they had a beach?
It is not until you get to the top of the green grass hill that you realize that it is not a hill but a man made dam that hold the water in with a mountain of green trees just on the other side almost like a moat to a castle.
At the first parking area past the dam, they have a nice little place to put your boat into Pine Lake and a great view back at the Dam.
Plus to the right, you have the beach. Not to big but a nice little area to take a dip with all the trees surrounding you.
Up the road, they have a nice little miniature golfing area with camping in the back. Plus they have a camp store so if you forget something, you only have to walk over to get it.
Way up the road, they have a fire tower which is part of the Tar Hollow State Forest. But drive slowly as you go as there is a lot of wild life around.
Both in the park and in the Tar Hollow State Forest, they have trails which includes a section of the Ohio Buckeye Trail, Ross Hollow Hiking Trail (4.9 Miles), the 21 mile Logan Boy Scout Trail, and many more.
The park also offers laundromat, game room, basketball court, game room with ping pong and air hockey, swimming in Pine Lake, boat and bike rental, and so much more!
This is one of those parks that you can get lost in and just enjoy the outdoors. I loved the beautiful Pine Lake but also all the trees and water features that were around. This is one of my favorite little places to hide out in.
