How to Get Back to Nature at North Bend State Park
North Bend State Park is a great way to get back to nature and get away from the big city. The park has several different areas which to discover your perfect place to relax.
One area of the park has this beautiful view with a boat launch and a little area for fishing.
It does not have picnic tables or anything but just so beautiful.
If you don’t have a boat, they have an nice rental place to get one for the day.
The lake is surrounded with mountains.
The park is a hikers dream.
The park has everything from moderate to strenuous grades which include Castle Rock Trail, Hibbs Cemetery Trail, Southern Railroad Trail, Water Edge Trail, and so many more.
But my favorite is the Barton’s Lake Trail which allows you to go up to the dam.
The trail is nice and wide with the Dam not to far away from parking. Therefore, the whole family can go.
Or someone can stay behind and get the barbecue going or fish for dinner.
The park also has great places to meet with family members with the ability to be together and yet apart.
Choose to walk on nice level ground.
Or hike up to the treeline.
Or course, you also have this bell at the park. I did not find out about it but I love the fact that they have it.
The park is also near the North Bend Rail Trail which is 72 miles long from Parkersburg to Wolf Summit. This is a great place to head out for the day on the rail trail.
The park has a lodge, camping, and so much more. I loved my hike to the dam and around the area. They also offer Yoga and other items.
