Catch the Wild Life at Strouds Run State Park
Strouds Run State Park is a great place to see the wild life up front and personal. As I drove in, I saw deer and I think a turkey but it was some kind of big bird.
As you arrive, the Blackhaw Accessible Trail is a nice little trail to check out the wild life. I could hear frogs and other birds all around.
The rolling hills in the background make this trail just beautiful with wild flowers and it has a nice picnic table to have a snack.
Along the way, I saw this log which I was thinking was an alligator at first and then saw that it was a log with a bunch of turtles on it. (See the top image for a close up!)
Across the way, they have a boat rental place which include several boat types. I wish I was with someone this day so that I could have taken the pedal boat around.
I love how the trail has places that make you look like you are in the back country with no one around you.
I got a shot of this bird but most of them moved so fast that I could not get them in the camera. But I enjoyed watching them as they darted around me.
During the warm months, they have a great beach area to swim in. I can’t wait for summer!
The beach has great views of the lake and the mountains around which I can just think about floating on my back and seeing them as I float around the swimming area.
The lake goes both ways and has lots of little out of the way places for those that want to get away from people. A great place to relax.
