How To Find The Perfect Picnic Place Burr Oak State Park and Tom Jenkins Dam

Burr Oak State Park and Tom Jenkins Dam is a place to get away from it all. It is a great place to boat, picnic, spend time with family, swim, and/or hike. But the different areas to picnic area almost unlimited.

This is a perfect little area across from the lake but far enough away from other is enjoy family time. Whereas the photo on the top is at the waters edge.

The Tom Jenkins Dam has great picnic area for large groups as you have several table together but they also have several single tables as well.

The park has a wonderful trail system but these are long trails and loops at over 5 miles long.

The great sights that you can see along the way.

One of the trails is over 21 miles long which is the lake loop trail. It gives you view of the lake and the forest.

I love the dam. It so long and nice and green the day the I was at their. The dam is actually outside the main park area.

The water is just so beautiful with the trees in the background are just so green. In addition, the smells of the forest are just so masculine with the strong smell of oak as well as the sweet smells of flowers underlining it.

Back at the park, they have a great beach for swimming.

But the greatest thing for the park is that they have a lodge, cabins, and camping. It is a great way to stay for several days of enjoyment for everyone. Even for those that are not the camping type!
